A one day tournament bringing together parents, friends and supporters of the University’s performance golf programme, Saints Golf.

Opened in 2008, the Castle Course is the newest addition to St Andrews Links at the Home of Golf. Set on a rugged cliff-top, this par-71 course offers spectacular views over the bay to St Andrews.

The price for this very special day is £250 per person and includes an 18-hole round of golf for one on the Castle Course, hospitality at the course including a pre-round coffee and bacon roll and an exclusive Saints Golf gift bag. The day will conclude with a closing dinner and prize-giving.

Prizes will be awarded for the best players, including ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘best team’ and any proceeds from the event will help support the Arnold Palmer Scholarship and the Saints Golf Programme for talented student golfers at the University. If you would like to make a donation to the programme and become a member of our 600 Club, please visit our golf donation page.

2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational

Our second annual Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament took place at the Castle Course on June 25th under glorious St Andrews sunshine! This tournament exists to celebrate the role of golf at the University and proceeds go directly into the Saints Golf performance programme to benefit our outstanding young players. We had 16 players competing who were a mixture of current 600 Club members, parents of graduating students and staff members including both the Director of Golf and Director of Development.

The format of the tournament was better ball in teams of two with special prizes for closest to the pin on the spectacular 8th hole and longest drive on the sweeping Par 5 15th. Upon completion of play all competitors gathered at the Links Clubhouse with the sun setting over the Old Course for a prize giving dinner, the winner receiving the magnificent trophy kindly donated by 600 Club members, George & Wendy David.

Hoping to take the trophy back home with them George and Wendy set the clubhouse target of 67 only to be pipped by the last team in – Director of Development Robert Fleming and partner Jay Diesing with an outstanding better ball of 64!

  • “I decided to start supporting the University of St Andrews golf programs about five years ago. I thought I could help make a difference for these programs by financially helping you start a golf donor program.
