In a high quality field it was 3rd year, Peter Kerr, who led the way for Saints Golf in the R&A Scholars tournament. Rounds of 71 and 69 on day 1 over the Eden course placed him well for the final days play on the Old Course. Playing in the final group and still in the mix with 5 holes to play he would agonisingly see two birdie putts graze the hole on 15 and 16. With the eventual winner, Aled Greville, finishing off a wonderful 65 it would leave Peter with just too much to do. Closing with two pars for a 70 (-2), Peter tied for 4th alongside Alan Fahy (Maynooth University).

The R&A once again staged an excellent tournament that has become a highlight of the season for student golfers, both Aled Greville and ladies winner, Lorna Mclymont, will now go on to represent Europe at this years Palmer Cup at the Alotian Club in Arkansas.

  • “As a parent of a student presently attending St Andrews and playing for Saints Golf, I cannot imagine another University anywhere being able to offer a better golfing and educational experience than the one my son is receiving.”

  • “The golf programme they have at St Andrews is a great option for players who want top level academics but do not want to compromise on the quality of the golf programme - it's a special opportunity to be a student athlete in the Home of Golf.”
    Claude Harmon III
  • “I decided to start supporting the University of St Andrews golf programs about five years ago. I thought I could help make a difference for these programs by financially helping you start a golf donor program. I'm very proud that you have used my funds to create a Saints Golf Website to help you get the word out.”

  • “I am proud to support the golf program at the University of St Andrews. The Home of Golf is an iconic place where the history, values and the tradition of the game are intertwined with the culture of the town and the people who reside there.”
