BUCS National Championship & Trophy

A poor final league position meant we would have to travel for our last 16 match in the National Championship, against a strong Northumbria side, played at Close House GC.

This was to prove to be an extremely close and high quality match with 5 of the 6 matches going down the last. Unfortunately for Saints Golf, where in the past few years we have squeezed through encounters like this, this was not to be our day. Unable to close out on the final two holes we would only take a win and two halves to lose 4-2.

Matthew Myers – Win

Peter Kerr – Loss

Jack Rogan – Loss

Tobias Hein – Half

James Blyth – Half

Cameron Franssen – Loss

  • “To play for the University of St Andrews Golf Team made that experience even more important to me – the combination of the traditions, the people I’ve met through the matches and the wider network, the extraordinary places we played, and the consistently brilliant competition, are highlights of my life.”
Storm Boswick – MA Honours, 1991
  • “As a parent of a student presently attending St Andrews and playing for Saints Golf, I cannot imagine another University anywhere being able to offer a better golfing and educational experience than the one my son is receiving.”
David McCarthy – Parent & 600 Club Member
  • “For over 600 years the town of St Andrews and the University of St Andrews have had a seamless partnership that celebrates the legacy, tradition, and values that bind them together. This standard of excellence is seen through the prism of the Golf Programme.”
Dave Bonuccelli – David L Bonuccelli & Associates, 600 Club Member
  • “The golf programme they have at St Andrews is a great option for players who want top level academics but do not want to compromise on the quality of the golf programme - it's a special opportunity to be a student athlete in the Home of Golf.”
    Claude Harmon III
